Sunny Peach Smoothie

Now I won’t lie, I will never lie. To be honest (ha), I’m not very good at lying, nor do I ever gravitate to doing it! What I am capable of is transparency and openness. What is all this moral blabber you ask? It’s me preparing you for a smoothie recipe that I did not think of all on my own.

You see, I follow March against Monsanto on Facebook and they posted a smoothie recipe from here > (collective evolution) and well, I wanted to make it but I had some missing ingredients. The site give details on the benefits of turmeric if you’d like to read.

The version I made was pretty mellow and not too terribly sweet. If you wanted I would suggest adding a tablespoon at most of your favorite liquid sweetener.

I used sunflower milk because it’s the last kind I made. If you have about a cup of unsalted, raw sunflower seeds and would like to make your own for this recipe then blend one cup sunflower seeds with four cups of filtered water for about 1-2 minutes and strain through a nut/milk bag, cheese cloth, or fine mesh strainer. Store in container with a lid in the fridge. I use an old juice container that holds exactly four cups.


  • Sunny Peach Smoothie

    Yields: nearly 2 cups
    Time: 5-10 minutes

1 cup sunflower milk (or any that you have)
1/2 cup frozen peaches
1 fresh fresh banana (you can use froEn if that’s what you have)
1 tbsp coconut oil
1/2 tsp turmeric (powder or fresh)
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
1/2 tsp ginger (powder or fresh)
1 tsp mesquite powder
1 tsp chia seeds

I like to add my ingredients in the blender in a special order so that powders/oils don’t get stuck on the bottom of the blender. (I think it works…)
